Strong…. like iron

That’s what I’ll have to be over the coming 4 days, strong like iron.  Well my willpower will need to be anyway.

My wife and some friends and I are heading to Stradbroke Island for a nice relaxing long weekend.  We’ll squeeze in a bit of diving, some beach time and I daresay, a little bit of socialising.  I’ve got to be careful I don’t fall off the wagon so hard that I break something but at the same time I am going to enjoy myself.

My Plan:

  • Thurs am – hit the gym early for dynamic upper body session.
  • Friday am – short interval session, tabata style (20 sec on, 10 sec off x 8, x 5 different exercises)  Surprisingly effective workout even if just using body weight exercises which I’ll be doing.
  • Sat – Rest,
  • Sun – Rest day but will undoubtably have some swimming, beach cricket perhaps, and I’d like to do some stretching.
Potential Barriers:
  • Late nights
  • Sleep in’s
  • Hangover
  • Too much food
The Mindset:
“Each activity I do is putting some credit in the bank from which I can then redraw.  Even though not optimal, better than not doing anything.”
I’ll let you know how I go.  Suffice to say I’ll be quiet on here for the next 4 days.
